The World Mountain Running Championship 2017 will test the athletes’ skills between the typical alpine environment and the ancient streets of the center of Premana, on a 6,5km long ring with a 430m difference in altitude.
The start is located at the Ethnographic Museum in Premana, at the beginning of an 200m straight route up to the church square, from where the road begins to climb and then drive runners in the narrow streets of the old town which lead, again with positive slope, to the location “piazzo” (1Km), that sees the passage to the dirt trails of Premana’s mountains and a first glimpse of the actual hill.
Over the next two Km path it proves to be a challenging climb up to the highest point of the race, where the forest gives the spectacular passage in the meadows of Pezzapraa location (3Km).
The call of fans prepare for the next difficulty: the slope changes and the downhill becomes technical, back in the mountain forests to the higher part of the village of Premana, to find the asphalt of the last Km of the World Championship ring.
A spectacular new passage at the entrance of the Museum park, after which a catwalk bring runners back to the final straight of Via Roma.
Here, between two wings of the crowd they will establish the 2017 world champions of mountain running.
One ring’s lap for Junior categories and two laps for Senion categories.
Refreshment points will be located all along the route.
